Sexual Energy – The Power of the Two Sexes

Did the “sexual energy” title grab you?  Great!

Sorry, this is not a post about sex…but stick with me anyway…;)

This is a post about the sexes – male and female – more implicitly it’s about the ancient esoteric wisdom which whispers to us from the past regarding these two amazing sexual energies…

Ancient wisdom recognized the two different energies each sex possessed.

The masculine represents positive, active energy and feminine represents negative, passive energy. Ladies, this description of ‘negative’ is only in its electrical sense. So passive energy is magnetic…it draws other matter to itself…whereas active energy moves upon matter.

Both energies are required to create the ‘spark of life’, which is the result of the sexual union of the two opposites.

Life cannot exist in our current universe without this balance of sexual powers.

Examples of this balance can be found throughout our language, and a study of clichés will quickly point them out…yin and yang, opposites attract, etc.

Esoteric spiritual wisdom takes this a bit further and assumes the two make three. You would recognize the three-fold aspect in all major religions of today.

There is always a male entity, a female entity and a third, sometimes even more powerful, third entity created from the merging of the two opposites.

This subtle balance of energies is the essence everything we are. To take a moment and appreciate the opposite sex, not from a sexual point of view, but from a sexual energy point of view, can provide some very interesting food for thought.

We can exist without each other…but we cannot create without each other!

I am hoping to explore some of these fascinating differences in the way the two sexes approach life, personal development and spiritual growth in an upcoming book co-authored with Sharon Quirt, author of The Keys.
