Egypt is the Cradle for the Story of Christ – As Told 10,000 years Ago

Many modern Christians might find it quite unsettling to learn the concepts of a virgin birth and a resurrection are not unique to the story of Christ. 

In fact, there are many ancient cultures and religions which used these exact same underlying story lines to describe their specific messiah.

The concept of a “messiah” or savior, has its roots in the Egyptian “Iusa”…better known as the “Horus”.  This Iusa was born every 2500 years which coincides with the great precession of the equinox explained in a previous post.

Essentially it appears to us that the stars in the heavens rotate slowly and continuously, and approximately every 2500 years we enter the next constellation as a backdrop for the night sky.  This movement is also the root of the horoscope and the divination attributed to astrology.

This movement of stars is also aligned with the rebirth of the next messiah, and just about every 2500 years a great event occurs which is attributed to his return.  Christians refer to this as the Second-Coming, because they believe their Christ was the first ever messiah. 

The Egyptians had a much longer experience, as a spiritual civilization than any other civilization we know of, and I believe they were much wiser than modern Christians in the ways of the universe…they referred to the Iusa as “The Ever-Coming One”.

I find it interesting to compare some of the ancient Mystics from around the world, and more succinctly to study the specifics of the legends surrounding their births, deaths and resurrections.

In the Pagan Christ, by Tom Harpur, the direct comparison of Jesus to Horus is elaborately laid out, and I only touch on a few points below:

• Sirius, the morning star of the East, heralded the birth of Horus
• Horus was baptized in the river Eridanus by a god figure named Anup the baptizer – who was later decapitated
• Horus, like Jesus, has no life history between the ages of 12 and 30
• Horus walked on water, cast out demons and healed the sick
• Horus delivered a “Sermon on the Mount” to his followers
• Horus was crucified on a cross between two thieves, buried in a tomb and resurrected
• Horus was called the KRST which was taken from a carving on the lid of a coffin millennia before Christianity ‘coined’ the phrase

There are a few other mystics and deities from around the world who also share some of these traits…

In Persia, Zoroaster was born of a virgin mother under a shining star.  Zoroaster taught karma and how to live a pure life.  This religion sprouted from the much older sun-god cult of Mithra, who also was born of a virgin mother.

In China, Lao Tze is considered the Chinese ‘Jesus’.  He was born of a virgin mother and conceived under a falling star.  Lao Tze wrote the Tao the King, known in the west as The Tao.  He believed in and taught the concepts of reincarnation and karma.

There are many other examples of these same themes in the stories of many other cultures both old and new.  Do you know of any?

As we approach the next shift in constellations from Pisces (the fish) to Aquarius (water), there will no doubt be another “Ever-Coming One” to guide us through the next phase of personal awareness and spiritual evolution.

My hope is we as a society are prepared to take the next step toward greatness and not stay mired in the religious rhetoric of the past 1500 years.  Those lessons were meant for those times…

We need new lessons and a new guide…a guide with the vision to lead by example…is that you?
