Because They Left a Part of Themselves Behind…
There was a gorgeous butterfly floating around the plants on my patio yesterday and it was a truly joyous thing to watch as it floated and fluttered around from plant to plant – I always thought they should be called “flutter-bys” in my humble opinion.
And as I watched it flutter around I realized just how happy it must be to have finally left behind the old body which was tied to the ground and is now moving wistfully through the universe in a completely new form.
And of course I then thought how we too can also become like a butterfly and free ourselves from our dross old body and state of mind which weighs us down and keeps us in a state of unhappiness.
I am going back to the USA for Christmas and have spoken to several of my friends who are not in a very good place both financially and mentally.
There seems to be a common depression amongst the blue-collar workers I know, at least in Florida, and it’s unsettling for me to learn of their demise, unhappiness and utter despair.
So my philosophy will be to “live like a butterfly” and I will suggest to everyone to do whatever is required to change their world into a more joyous and light-filled place.
You do have the ability to change any situation when you release the fear and make a decision to change.
There are no limits to “buts” as in “but I don’t have any money” or “but I don’t have a college education” or even the “but I can’t leave my home”.
The reality is if your home is providing you with no options to find employment in your trade, then you basically have two options:
- Learn a new skill
- Move to somewhere you can apply your trade
I’m a big fan of learning new skills and I moved to the other side of the world, so my story should resonate with anyone who is sitting there in a state of absolute misery; get out and take a course or look for opportunities outside of your normal suburb/state/country.
The butterfly leaves the dross behind and learns to fly halfway through its life.
Use this humble creature as a model and impetus for you to make changes in your life no matter how old you are if you are not happy!
You can leave your doubts, worries and frustration behind and replace these unhealthy mental habits with healthy mental habits like faith, hope and joy.
You too can float and flutter your way to a new life when you release that which no-longer serves you…
