Nine Could Be the Perfect Number
As mentioned in the previous post about the perfect number nine, I’m researching the cliché, “A Stitch in Time Saves Nine”, for the second book in my series, Reading Between the Lines, The Hidden Power of Language.
The area catching my attention at the moment is the application of theosophical numerology to astronomical combination’s of numbers.
You might find some of these hard to believe…I did!
Our lovely, blue planet travels on its orbit around the sun very quickly. In fact, we travel 66,600 miles an hour (6+6+6 = 18 = 1 + 8 = 9).
Due to a strange wobble in the tilt of the axis of our planet, there exists a phenomenon known as the precession of the equinox.
This amazing feature, specific to our planet, was known by both the ancient Egyptian and Mayans as ‘The Great Year.’
Without trying to explain how it all works, it takes 25,776 years to complete a cycle of precession (2+5+7+7+6 = 27 = 2 + 7 = 9), and this is the most accurate, modern calculation.
The ancients believed it took 2160 (2+1+6 = 9) years to complete each of twelve cycles for a total of 25,920 years (2+5+9+2 = 18 = 1+8 = 9).
How could these ancient civilizations have an understanding of the precession of the equinox with a variation of only 144 years (1+4+4 = 9) from the most accurate calculation we have now?
The Rosicrucians believe it takes 144 years (see above to calculate the number) for a soul to return to a physical reincarnation.
I’m not sure which mystery is more intriguing…
